Dioctyl Terephalate (DOTP) is a functional primary plasticizer which is used in PVC plastic. Compared with diisooctyl phthalate (DOP) which is common used, it has many advantages such as heat-resisting, cold-resistant, non volatile, anti-extractable, plasticity and good performance of electric insulation, etc. It indicates excellent persistence, soap water resistance and low temperature flexibility. Because of its low volatility, it can fully satisfy the requirements of temperature-resist grade of electric wire and cable when you use DOTP, it can widely used in 70℃ resist cable material (International Electro technical Commission-IEC standard) and other different kinds of PVC soft products. Besides most uses in cable material, PVC plasticizer, DOTP can also used in the production of leatheroid membrane. In addition, it has good intermiscibility which can be used in plasticizers such as acrylonitrile derivatives, polyvinyl butyl (PVB), NBR, cellulose nitrate, etc. It can still be used in plasticizer of synthetic rubber, coating additive, lubricant of precise instrument, lubricant additives as well as paper softener, etc.
